I just happened to spy this at the Steampunk Symposium as a little red riding hood was walking by our table. Isn’t it great?! It’s a leather holder for your tea cup so that it can be on your utility belt – and I sooo support a tea utility belt! I didn’t happen to get a chance to visit the vendor who was selling these. I’m going to look around online and see if I can find them and of course share that link!
Here are a few more snapshots of our day at the Motor City Steam Con in Livonia Michigan. Pictured here our vending table and our Wormwood Queen with her gent Ted and their wee one Bella. Our day was busy! Much Orange Moon Tea was served in the tea room!
Hello, hello! Thank you so much for the visit to our tea and tales site! So much has happened in the year and a half that we’ve been hard at work at this whole tea drinking and telling stories thing. I thought it was about time to offer a state of the tea address! That last sentence is proof everything sounds better when tea is involved!
First and foremost I’m happy to announce the second chapter of Snapdragon Tea will be posted this Friday. I’ve been so terribly eeeee!! with the response we received from the original idea of the site and the first chapter but I do admit I was not quick with continuing the story online proper. I’m sure most of you can understand the wonderfully tedious demands of domestic life (no matter how we want to keep our head up in the clouds) but it was demanding all the same. It took me awhile to get the rest of my story properly edited to offer. Not only have I been able to do this but my proper book site is up and running. So lil Emily’s story will continue and be properly published monthly as intended. And there are many tidbits being added to the site regularly. Hopefully you are enjoying them. As well as taking a moment to brew a cup of our teas!
Myself and my wonderful tea making partner are up to quite a few things this spring that are slowly blossoming into summer events. We are pleased to announce that you can meet up with our Wormwood Queen at the Second Annual Gypsy Goddess Summer Festival in Chesaning MI June 4th and 5th. You can visit our society pages for links and more info about this event. Also, we’re happy to say we’ll be hosting the tea room for the Motor City Steam con this coming July. You can visit our tea room for a variety of events that include learning how to read tea leaves and even attend the bewitching Occult Tea event where you can sample all the ritual of the Wormwood Queen’s infamous Absinthe Tea and learn a bit about the Victorian Spirituality movement. I’m a guest artist of the con as well so you can come give me a poke too and I’ll shower you with tea art. 😉 Again, visit our society pages for times, dates and details.
As for our site? Our tea society has been working very hard to add more notes to our wonderful little world in Orange Moon Downs and help you sink deeper into our mythology. In the coming months we’re hoping to begin to explore the idea of opening our tea society to those outside of our small town (and mythology) so it becomes a wonderful thing everyone who wishes to can take part in. Remember you can follow us on Facebook and –as we like to say– join in our tea conversations. We have daily posts of anything remotely related to all that is tea and the fantastic. If you’ve yet to read Snapdragon Tea, Chapter I, the thing that gave birth to this whole project, might we recommend it? And come Friday the tale will continue!
We say it often and will always say it when we can: Thank you so much for visiting our site, lending your support to this project and just letting us get to know other tea and tales lovers out there in the world! I hope we just let it grown through the summer! — Humbly yours, the blue girl, Bethalynne.
We are pleased to announce that The Orange Moon Tea Society will be hosting the tea room at the Motor City Steam Con just outside of Detroit MI this coming July. You’ll be able to visit our tea room and sample our many wonderful tea flavors and maybe even get a tea leaf reading by our own Wormwood Queen. We’ll also be hosting a few special events like Occult Tea where you can take in the full ritual of Absinthe Tea and learn a bit about Victorian Spiritualism. Our Snapdragon Tea chronicler Bethalynne will also be a guest artist at the event. The convention takes place the weekend of July 22 thru 24. You can find more information about venue, hotel reservations and the like by visiting the convention’s site at: MotorCitySteamCon.com — More info to come!
